The Sages

The Sages were the first three people to systematize magic and lay the foundations of wizardry as a profession. Each pioneered a different field and defined the roles that later generations of wizards would fulfill.

The three traditions they founded — Might, Wisdom and Order, and Art and Technology — live on in the three dorms of today's Astrafora Magic Academy.

Ignis Fortis

The Sage who invented offensive magic capable of fighting monsters and laid the foundations of magical combat. He favored fire magic, and it is said that the sight of him leading from the front, his hair streaming like a red lion's mane, could be seen from far away. Wizards who aspired to become heroes like him are said to have worn the symbol of the red lion.

Praetoris Azurite

The Sage who systematically interpreted magical phenomena and laid the foundations for treating magic as a field of scholarship. He created the first school and textbooks, guiding wizards who had become isolated after awakening to their powers. His disciples are said to have worn motifs in the same blue as the robes he favored.

Libertas Chloris

The Sage who prized change and originality. He invented the first magical device, bringing innovation to a world where magic had belonged only to wizards. He is said to have been a free spirit, and his first creation was supposedly "a box that startles people with the sound of a neighing horse."
